The Bare Knuckle Mule set is designed to capture the tone and response of late ‘50s PAF humbuckers. It’s a medium-output pickup set that prioritizes touch sensitivity, clarity, and dynamic range—making it a versatile choice for players who want vintage feel without sacrificing definition.

Both neck and bridge pickups are woundwith vintage-correct plain enamel wire and use Alnico 4 magnets, which gives them a sweet, balanced tone that sits between the midrange push of Alnico 5 and the softness of Alnico 2. The result is a pickup set that cleans up exceptionally well with the volume knob, but still offers rich sustain and growl when pushed.

These are often favored in Les Paul-style guitars but will also suit any guitar routed for full-size humbuckers, especially if you're chasing articulate vintage tones with plenty of character.

️ Installation Notes

The Mule set fits most guitars routed for standard humbuckers. It’s available with either traditional braided 2-conductor wire (for vintage-correct wiring) or modern 4-conductor wire (for coil splitting or advanced switching).

If your guitar has a tremolo bridge, make sure to select the F-spaced bridge pickup. Otherwise, standard spacing works for most fixed-bridge guitars. Mounting hardware is included, and the pickups can be installed with or without covers depending on your preference.
