    About this Guitar

    The J Mascis Jazzmaster has become something of a cult favourite among offset fans. It's part of the Squier line but doesn't feel like an entry-level instrument. The neck is surprisingly substantial – a thick, rounded profile that gives it a sense of sturdiness not often found in this price range.

    Its pickups are hotter than vintage Jazzmaster single coils, lending it a voice more suited to grunge, shoegaze, or garage rock. The simplified bridge and trem system solve many of the tuning issues that put people off traditional Jazzmasters. It's not fully vintage-correct, but it is playable, practical and very characterful.
